Final Day for Kosten Foundation’s Kick It 5K Early Bird Registration

Memphis, Tenn., Oct 7, 2021 – Today is the final day runners, walkers, or supporters can enjoy the early bird registration bonuses for the Kosten Foundation’s 11th annual Kick It 5K benefitting pancreatic cancer research. Participants who sign up before October 8 will pay a $30 entry fee and be entered to win a free pair of Jaybird Vista wireless earbuds. After the deadline, registration will increase by $5 so anyone interested in signing up for the race, or supporting pancreatic cancer research, should go to the 5K’s website at https://kickit5k.raceroster.com/ to learn more.

“The Kick It 5K isn’t just our largest fundraiser, it’s also a time for us to honor those we’ve lost, celebrate our pancreatic cancer survivors, and enjoy a fun afternoon outside with friends and family,” said Alan Kosten, Chairman of the Kosten Foundation.

The 11th annual Kick It 5K is presented by Baptist Memorial Health Care and will be hosted November 7 in Shelby Farms Park. The Kosten Foundation’s last in-person 5K featured more than 1,200 participants and raised over $150,000 for pancreatic cancer research. This year’s event is an in-person or virtual race so runners, or walkers can compete from wherever they are.

5K participants and their families will enjoy live music, food trucks, local vendors, a pre-race ceremony honoring pancreatic cancer survivors, and much more. Memphis radio legend Ron Olson will also serve as emcee for the 5K, continuing his longstanding support of the event.

Since 2003, the Kosten Foundation has donated more than $2.4 million to pancreatic cancer research. The Foundation’s latest round of research grants helped fund research teams in Memphis, New York City, Dallas, and Harlingen, TX. In addition to its research efforts, the Kosten Foundation hosts the only free, virtual pancreatic cancer support group in the Mid-South.
