Kosten Foundation Monthly Group Meeting

Kosten Foundation Monthly Group Meeting Offers Support and Information to Pancreatic Cancer Patients and Caregivers

Memphis, Tenn., August 30, 2017 – The Memphis-based Kosten Foundation offers a monthly group meeting that is open to pancreatic cancer patients, families, caregivers, friends and anyone interested in learning about pancreatic cancer. The group meets the second Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cordova Public Library, 8457 Trinity Road, Cordova, TN. The meeting is free and open to all.

As the only group of its kind in the Mid-South, the Kosten Foundation’s support group provides a supportive and caring environment for patients and their families as they strive to understand treatment options, nutrition, how to manage their recovery from surgery, and more. Members of the group share stories, ask questions and support one another through the pancreatic cancer journey. The group includes patient survivors who are just starting their journey, as well as those who have survived more than 21 years. Individuals who attend learn that they do not have to battle pancreatic cancer alone.

“The support group changed my life,” said Larry Frantz, a pancreatic cancer survivor. “By listening to others give their testimonies about what they’ve gone through and sharing their experiences, I’ve learned things that I’ve taken back to my doctor to ask him about. The group is so much more than just talking about this disease. It is a tremendous support for those going through the disease, but also especially for the caregivers who are alongside them.”

The goal of the Kosten Foundation’s support group is to be of service to anyone affected by pancreatic cancer. Caregivers and family members have often commented that the support group has been as important to them as to the patient.
